One by one, Penguins coach Dan
Bylsma and 16 of his players
were introduced to the standing,
roaring crowd of 27,565, including
Matt Cooke, Chris Kunitz, Craig
Adams, Kris Letang, Bill Guerin,
Jordan Staal, Hal Gill, Mark
Eaton, Eric Godard, Jeff Taffe,
Max Talbot, Chris Minard and
Mathieu Garon, Philippe Boucher
all along the third-base line.
Sidney Crosby came last, with
the Cup, and when he hoisted
Lord Stanley high over his head
-- just as he did Friday in
Detroit the cheers were deafening
and louder than a freight train.
Pittsburgh sports fans were
overjoyed.
Once out on the field, with
Crosby and the Penguins in
full view, Morgan turned to
Pirates president Frank Coonelly,
as he recalled, and said:
"Frank, that's got to be us
someday. We've got to do that.
I want a parade, too."
"It was just incredible, for
Sid and those guys to do that,"
Pirates shortstop Jack Wilson
said. "We were all in awe,
especially after watching
what they went through to
get it."

Sunday’s game honored the Pirates’
first world championship in
1909 against the Detroit Tigers.
To honor the Pittsburgh Pirates,
both teams wore replica 1909
Uniforms as they "turned
back the clock". It was
the Pirates’ last of three games
in an interleague series with
the Tigers. They won 6-3. The
Pirates won the series 2 out
of three games.
Capps
had one of his jerseys autographed
by all of the Penguins and kept
it. Capps closed the game for
the Pirates.
Penguins Right Wing Bill
Guerin Throws Out First Pitch
In Game Vs. Tigers
Veteran player Bill Guerin got
to throw out the first pitch
of the game and chuckled when
it landed in the dirt at homeplate.
"Split-finger fastballs are
going to sink, so I know it
was going in the dirt," Guerin
explained after his pitch, smiling.
"Don't you know, a split-fingered
fastball is supposed to drop
like that?" Guerin joked. "I
was imagining a left-handed
batter I had to brush back."
Guerin said that he only had
two hours of sleep -- "A nap
between 5 and 7 a.m. just now"
,since Crosby first passed him
the Cup Friday, and that he
has no plan to sleep anytime
soon. "It's been an amazing
couple of days, doing what we've
done and now this," he said.
"This city is just crazy about
it right now, and it's just
awesome. Pittsburgh is such
a great sports town, and they
love all their teams. It's just
been incredible, and I'm enjoying
every minute of it. I don't
want to sleep."
The Penguins took Lord Stanley
into the Pirates' clubhouse.
"Guys were all over it," Guerin
said. "Everybody was getting
pictures and stuff like that.
It was really neat. They're
all real good guys and appreciative
we brought it in. Our kids were
getting bats, balls, everything.
It was nice." Jordan Staal and
Max Talbot came out of the clubhouse,
both wearing one of Matt Capps'
batting practice jerseys. "It's
been an amazing couple of days,"
Guerin said. "This city is just
crazy about it right now. It's
awesome. Pittsburgh's such a
huge sports town. The fans ...
incredible. It's been wild."
